SAND is the token for The Sandbox ecosystem. This is one of the first metaverse developments that blends gaming, commerce, lifestyle, culture, and finance into a virtual world. Early corporate participants include Warner Brothers Music, Adidas, and Gucci. Celebrities have developed their own realms and perform virtual concerts for their fans.
There is a limited supply of LAND available in The Sandbox. Land is sold as non-fungible tokens. The premise of the Sandbox is that it is a user created experience that is social, creative, engaging, and may be profitable. With free tools, users may create “assets,” which are also NFTs, that may be exchanged in an open marketplace. These assets may be used to design spaces, like concert venues, or mansions, or game environments. Other users may join each other in these spaces in the form of their personalized avatar.
The Metaverse is a little ahead of schedule in that most people are not that inclined to spend much time there, either in The Sandbox, or Decentraland, or a variety of competing projects, yet. There are increasing financial and social forces that are driving more traffic to these venues and we believe this trend will continue and eventually snowball.
